Guru Ka Langar
Every Sunday we participate in Langar Sewa. Langar Seva, a core principle in Sikhism, refers to the selfless act of serving and feeding others, particularly through the free vegetarian meals served in Gurudwaras (Sikh temples). It’s a communal kitchen where volunteers prepare, cook, serve, and clean up, demonstrating the values of sharing, caring, and equality. Langar Seva is a practice that brings people together, regardless of their background or faith, and is a way to show humility and service to others.
Gurmat School is focused on teaching Sikh principles, history, and values. It emphasizes spiritual education alongside academic learning, aiming to nurture both the mind and spirit of young Sikhs.

Selfless Sewa
A “sewadar” is a volunteer who offers their services, often to a Gurdwara or the community, without expecting any reward or payment. Essentially, it’s someone who performs “seva,” which means selfless service, for religious or community reasons. Sevadars are motivated by dedication to the Guru and God, and as a duty to the Sikh community.
